It is our main objective to make the Allotment secure to combat vandalism.

This is the remains of one of our  latest vandalism attacks.

This is all that is left of one of our longest running members new shed and unfortunately he as been disheartened by this latest attack and vacated his plot at the allotment.

The allotment is partially fenced, with an 8ft chain link fence running along the top side and back of the allotment.

The problem we are experiencing is that there is no secure access to the site and we have been suffering from vandalism for a number of years. This has included:

· Arson.

· Trampling of crops.

· Greenhouse windows smashed.

· Theft

Over the last year we have managed to secure a number of grants to help fund our projects. One of these being from Communities First Trust Fund , which as allowed us to begin our first project, to run a fence along side the river. This will be erected using 8ft swan neck posts and chain link. This fence will be erected by Linco Timbre products who will also be supplying our sheds at a later date.

17/07/07 The side fencing as now been erected, so our allotment is sercure on three sides. Check out the gallery for pictures of the work at the allotment.

The second grant we received from ………………………. will be used to erect the fence and gate at the entrance to the allotment. For this we will be using round steel bar fencing so that it will be in keeping with the memorial garden at the entrance to the allotment.
